Choosing a Logical Scale:
There are 12 different preset zoom levels for each GC map. You can choose
teh appropriate zoom level and then click on teh "Change Scale" button.
Zooming:
You can zoom-in or zoom-out the map by clicking on the "Magnifier icons"
. The icon with a `+' sign zooms-in and the icon with the `-' sign zooms out
the map.
Finding Information of map objects:
When you click on any object its information is displayed on the side side of
the map image.
Panning
or moving the map:
You can move the map by clicking on the "Arrow buttons" icon.
Accessing
the saved Positions - Quick Navigation on the map:
We
have saved some positions in the maps which can be directly accessed by selecting
the desired position from the "Position" drop down menu and then clicking
on the "Show" button.
Routing:
This
example allows you to find the Shortest and Fastest Routes in the Map.
You first need to Set the Starting Point, Stop(s) (journey break points)
and the Finishing point. Choose the appropriate option from the `Set
Point Action' drop down list and then Click on the desired point on the
Map to set it. Once you have chosen the Start Point, Finish point and/or the
Stops, you can click on the `Shortest Route' or `Fastest Route' Buttons to see
the the optimal route which will be highlighted in different color.
Click on the `Clear Route' button to clear the highlighted routes. If you need
to Reset the Starting & Finishing points and/or the Stops then click on
the `Reset Route Points' option. The "Shortest Route" is highlighted
in the Black color and the Fastest Route is highlighted in the Red color.
Finding a Location in the map:
Use
the GOTO function to move to an urban location. Enter the name of the Location
(Metro, UA, District or Taluk HQ, City or Town)
which you want and then click on the Search Button. You can also just type in
the first few letters of the name; on clicking "search", a list of
the matching locations will be offered; choose the one you want. Note that you
can also Zoom in or out (and click to Re-centre the map); select
a particular view or change the map. By clicking on any location, you can call
up the stored information. For real applications, this information would obviously
be specialised.
Adjusting the Size of the map being dislpayed at the client side:
You can choose the size of the map-image by selecting the desired option from
the Length and Breadth drop down menus.
